[+] 4.0 Used this for one year-Picks up a lot of background noise-
It picks up a lot of background noise...people I call are always complaining that they can't hear me well and I end up having to switch to phone mode and then they can hear me well. The thicker part that goes behind your ear can be quite large and uncomfortable. It comes with an assortment of ear buds (different sizes) they tend to unscrew and fall off; it still works without an ear bud but very uncomfortable.

[+] 10.0 Surprisingly good
Bought the first of these unit form my 40 year old son who is an over-the-road truck driver. He had owned a Motorola headset before but it had muffled microphone audio at times and at times was difficult to understand him. He wanted a headset with a very long boom microphone and I bought this unit for him thinking it was what he wanted (Plantronics). It wasn't the unit he wanted, but he was very happy with it. The sound pick up is very natural and very quiet. This is important because in a truck environment, there are lots of other noises. This Voyager provides excellent voice clarity without picking up a lot of background noise. I believe that it has a microphone silensing circuit or VOX circuit in it, because if my son pauses in talking, the mic seems to go completely quiet. I believe that if it is not detecting voice or ambient noise, then it completely cuts off. You start to think that you might have lost the call becasue it get so quiet, but if you ask him something, it turns right back on. Its actually a very nice feature. It is also different because it has the larger behind the ear electronics module. However, he found that this kept it anchored on his ear better than the much smaller Motorola. He liked it so much, and I liked what it sounded like so much that I bought myself one, and I find it to be a very good bluetooth headset. It is very comfortable in the car, which is where I tend to use it. I also find that the ear piece stays in my ear canal much better than the much lighter Motorola did. I really like this Voyager 510 from Plantronics. I find it ideal for my uses. It does fight with an auto-based bluetooth system such as Microsoft SYNC in Ford products and I have found that you have to use one or the other system, but it wont tolerate both.
My one complaint with the Plantronics Voyager is that the on off switch is very tiny and difficult to use (you have to press it 3 seconds to turn the unit on or off), so I leave it on all the time, and turn the bluetooth transmitter in my cell phone on and off rather than trying to do on the Voyager.
Great product

[+] 10.0 Great Bluetooth !!
I bought this product for a birthday gift for my friend. He drives a standard car and it's a safety hazard to be on the phone while driving, especially trying to shift gears. He opened it yesterday, charged it and was using it in a manner of minutes. Very simple to setup and I can hear him clearly...doesn't sound like he is in a tunnel. The quality is very good. I was skeptical about getting a blue tooth because I hadn't gotten much feedback from anyone until my sister got this one and recommended it to me. Good product and not too expensive.

[+] 8.0 So far so good
This is the first bluetooth I have owned and I bought it about a week ago. so far I have had only one problem, I cannot get the earpiece I put on off. it comes with 3 different earpieces and I wanted to try all 3 but I cannot get the first one I put on off. now this is not a big deal because I like the one I put on just fine. actually I like it a lot. but I am curious how the other 2 feel.
but overall a very good piece of technology. I can get about 15 feet from my phone and in my pocket it works great. nobody I have talked to on it even realized I was on a bluetooth. so no real complaints at all! definitely worth the sale price!

[+] 8.0 best bluetooth I've ever owned
The Plantronics Voyager 510 is the best bluetooth I've ever owned. The sound quality and mike quality are very good, even while driving. The power button is WAY TOO SMALL though.

[+] 10.0 great value
I am very pleased with this headset. I have gone through many different brands over the years and have had a hard time finding something that was comfortable, had good battery life and good sound quality. The Voyager 510 is all of these things. It is very comfortable, I can often drive for 6 hours at a time and have never felt the need to remove it. The sound is great, I hear very clearly and I have never had a complaint from the person on the other end. The battery life of this little gem is amazing. I have finally found "the one"!

I thought about driving save with this device, but actually I only got nervous. I wasted my little money with this earpiece. I can barely hear anything with it, it breaks up all the time.

[+] 10.0 Great headset for the price
This headset works great. It fits on my ear and doesn't feel like it is going to fall off. The sound is also great. I haven't had any problems with it so far.

[+] 8.0 Not bad for the price
The headset was delivered on-time and in working order.
I am a hard grader and therefore give the reception an 8 (out of 10). There are times when the bluetooth connection disconnects and I have to reconnect manually, however, these instances are few and far between.
The earpiece is comfortable and easy to adjust. Overall, for the price, I am a happy camper.

[+] 2.0 Bluetooth
would not recommend this item. The ear piece does not stay on and does not connect well.

[+] 8.0 Well designed product, good sound quality
The Voyager 510 has worked very well for me thus far. I use it frequently when working at home or when driving. I have a quiet voice and frequently got 'complaints' to speak louder with other bluetooth models. With the Voyager, I don't get this complaint anymore.

Pro:
- Better audio quality than previous devices
- On/Off switch is NOT easily engaged. Other models turned on too easily.
- The fit for me is perfect, I don't feel like it's always ready to fall off
- Definitely worth the price paid.

Con:
- Another unique (for me) connection for charging

[+] 2.0 refub - that's news to me
I had to wait a couple of weeks to get the bluetooth so I was looking forward to it. When it came the box was taped up and clearly had been opened before, there were scratches all over it. It looked like it had been used for a couple of years then sent to me. Refurbished earpiece that's been crashing around in someone else's earwax come on really that's not what I signed up for here. This was not advertised as a refurbished product, and the first time I have been disappointed with amazon. Think twice before ordering it this was an enormous waste of time for me.

[+] 8.0 Very good, but read the reviews first...
This is my third BlueTooth headset in the past year. I have the Samsung WEP200 and WEP460 as well. The WEP200 is in the trash, and the WEP 460 is my backup to this Plantronics (yea this is sick but I'll bet some of you reading this have a backup headset as well).

This headset feels very large on my ear, much larger than either Samsung. It fits me fine, but I'm a big guy and it may not fit everyone. It is a bit difficult to get seated on my ear, but once seated it feels very solid.

The buttons are a bit more awkward than either Samsung, but not impossible to use. After charging, I had everything working with my phone in about 15 minutes (voice dialing, answering, etc.). I was able to answer and place calls handsfree using the buttons on the headset. A bit awkward but certainly functional.

The place where this headset really shines is, well, as a headset. The sound is much better than my other headsets, and the microphone is great. I sometimes work in windy or noisy environments, this Plantronics has been great for those situations. Not only do I hear the conversation better, but I get fewer "can you say that again"'s.

Overall a good headset for me and my use, especially considering the price.

[+] 8.0 Works as expected.
I can hear fine and have had no complaints on the other end.
I bought it to wear while working (construction) to keep my hands free, so far so good.
Definitely worth the money.

[+] 8.0 I'm Pleased
With over 3,000 other reviews, I'm not sure I can add much. The price was attractive and so far I have no complaints. I can hear and be heard. I mostly use it inside a vehicle or building so I can't speak to its performance outside or in the wind. I would have given this 5 stars had Plantronics included the same silicon earpieces that my Plantronics headset at work has. I did a swap and felt the silicon earpiece significantly enhanced the fit.

[+] 4.0 Works ok
It works OK. As long as there is not a lot of outside noise (e.g., driving) it works great. But, it fits a bit loose so I sometimes have to press it up to my ear so I can hear clearly. And, it picks up extraneous noises which sometimes is very annoying to the other person on the phone.

[+] 8.0 Good price, works great!
I've used this on a Motorola RAZR, Motorola KRZR, and my MacBook--all worked just fine. I thought that the battery life was pretty impressive, although this is my first bluetooth, so don't really have much to compare it to; but I definitely charge it a lot less than I do my phone. It's pretty comfortable to wear, and feels secure on my ear, even while sprinting to catch a train.

A downside with this design is that it's awkward if you wear glasses/sunglasses. Another downside is the placement of the on/off and volume controls--I have to completely take it off to adjust (although controlling volume through the cellphone does the trick). The on/off button feels a little cheap--I fear it will get broken or stuck one day (hopefully in the on position), but so far it hasn't let me down. Also, about 10% of the time, my phone doesn't recognize the headset after turning off/on, and I have to reset and re-sync (which takes about a minute, and you can't do while talking on the phone). But this could well be the phone's fault, not the headset's.

For the price, this is a solid purchase, and would definitely purchase again.

Great bluetooth..good sound and comfortable to wear...I'm on my 4th one..it has one downfall..after charging it multiple times, the small contact pin in the base breaks off making it unchargeable...but I keep buying them..wish they would fix the charging problem..

[+] 8.0 First bluetooth headset - so far so good
This is my first bluetooth headset. I'm pleased over the first month of use. Occasionally I get some static but it has been limited so far. I think it has to do with interference between my phone and earpiece but haven't concluded exactly how to eliminate those events. I based my purchase from Consumer Reports reviews and this being the highest rated for eliminating background noise etc.

[+] 8.0 Awesome product
I tried many headsets, before this but this one is the best. Clear sound, no noise and better quality. The best thing about this headset i liked is the charging. Even though I use for more than an hour daily, I am charging this weekly once or twice.

I like it very much.

[+] 10.0 Hands Free is addicting
I do phone sales and customer technical support and have many conference calls with business partners and without hands free I do not know how I would get 1/2 of what I do done. When I have to use a handset, in my mind I am searching for the headset, once you get used to hands free, you never want to go back to handsets - EVER!

[+] 8.0 Good sound quality for the money
I have used the Plantronics Voyager 510 BT headset for over a month and can say I am very pleased with the sound quality--both outgoing and incoming--it sounds like I'm right beside the person with whom I am talking. I often use it outdoors, in the car, and in the house and so far it performs quite well in all those areas. I get the best results when I have my cell phone on me or am within 10 feet of my phone. If I get out of range when NOT talking on it, it will beep to let me know and beep again a different tone when I re-enter the accepted range (approx. 30 feet). When I AM talking on it, the static will increase until I get back within that 10 feet or so. Since I live in a poor reception area, I usually need to set my cell phone in an area where I can pick up a signal, and the Voyager 510 allows me answer away from the phone--at least until I can get to closer range for best reception.

My biggest objection to the headset, and I guess it is minor--I don't like the flashing blue light that tell me it is on. I have it SET to NOT flash, but if I get outside of range (>30 feet or so) when I am NOT talking on it and then re-enter range, it will start flashing again--if I stay out of range too long (more than a few seconds). I can't see the flash but others can--and I sometimes forget to check it for flashing--and end up looking like a Christmas tree. To put it back into its non-flash mode again, I find I have to turn it off and then turn it back on again. If anyone knows how to deal with this quirk I would appreciate knowing how.

It is fairly comfortable to wear, and I am glad it came with 3 ear piece options to see which fits the best, as I did have to try all three to get a comfortable fit--and at times even forget I am wearing it. I don't talk on it constantly, so have had no problems with battery life so far. It recharges fairly quickly--maybe within 1 1/2 hours?? I researched and read hundreds of reviews before deciding on this Voyager 510 BT headset, and feel for its relatively inexpensive cost it does a more than decent job.

[+] 8.0 Works great so far.
About three weeks after purchase:

The only complaint I have is the bulkiness of the back portion of this headset. Trim a bit of bulk off of that and it would be pretty close to perfect. The volume is great, it stays on my ear and have yet to hear any complaints from callers about clarity.

[+] 10.0 Good product, good value!
My son has been using it for more than two years and told me that the reception is good. I went to Amazon's website and looked at other latest Plantronics Voyager models, and found that the prices are more expensive but feedbacks from other consumers are not any better. I also found that Plantronics Voyager 510 was on sale, so I bought one for myself in mid November; however, when I bought another one as gift in December, the price has gone up! No matter what, it's still worth the price (sale) as the reception is good and the earpiece is comfortable. You won't regret once you bought it. You will get your money worth.

[+] 8.0 Good bluetooth for the avid commuter
this is a pretty good bluetooth for the price. It has a noise cancelling capabilities which is nice but that also makes it miss the first syllable of the first word after a pause from the callers end of the conversation. Otherwise its a great bluetooth, fairly comfortable and links easily to the cell phones, I switch it to mine when my husband isn't using it.

[+] 4.0 For the price...what did I expect?
This is my first bluetooth earpiece, and I bought this purely on the number of "good" reviews it had. I just want to sum up my experience in point form, to help future buyers.
Programmability - pretty simple. Put your phone on discover mode, turn on the headset and give it a minute.
Functionality - simple single press to connect and disconnect calls. If you want to transfer call from headset to phone and back, press and hold for two seconds.
Quality - volume is an issue. Once you start driving and ambient noise is high, it becomes very difficult to hear. I've had several people complain of not being able to hear me. I pretty much have the headset maxed out in volume at all times. The other issue is breakup or choppy signal..."you're breaking up". The voice activation "lady" who speaks to you needs to be way, way louder. Not sure if it's my phone or not. It works ok.
Battery Life - Not sure if the battery life is affecting the breakup or choppy signal factor. There are times I don't charge it for days and be fine, and some days it's choppy all the time.
Ergonomic - it fits nice, pretty simple to place around ear with one hand. But the earpiece should feel snug in the ear, and this headset just sits there and moves around. Possibly a factor in my loudness complaint above.
Overall - I am returning this headset. It's more of a nuisance. I get way too many complaints. For the price I paid, is this the best you get? Anyway, I'm going to look for a better quality one.
Hope this helps.

[+] 10.0 works great
This headset is probably one of the best out there. I've owned it for quite a while, probably since it came out & I'm very, very happy w/it. My ONLY complaint is that I haven't found a case for it & I'm not comfortable leaving it in my purse. I don't use it in my car because my car is equipt w/ built in Bluetooth. I leave my car & turn this on & I'm in touch, easily. Definite winner.

Having a Blackberry Curve it can be hard to talk and hear on the phone. This item makes the conversation easier to have and hear. [+] 8.0 WORKS GREAT
This Plantronics Voyager 510 works great.

I bought these because, I used one of these owned by my company in 2008, it was left in my shirt pocket by accident, went through the full washer cycle, went through the full dryer cycle, I found it in the dryer, I left it overnight on charger, and it worked fine after all that. However, even though it worked, I DO NOT recommend doing that to the headset.

[+] 8.0 The Whole Family Uses These Now...
We discovered this terrific product after months of trying other units. I had a Samsung that worked pretty good but the plastic ear hooks broke off almost immediately. I bought an Emerson at a discount store. It worked pretty good but I lost it. Later, my parents decided to buy me a Bluetooth and asked me to pick one out. We had heard good reports on the Motorola models sold by Amazon, but decided to go with the Plantronics. It looks good and works very well. It stays on my ear! It excels whenever there is background noise and it pairs well with my Motorola KRZR phone. Sometimes it will lose connection if I cover over the phone with my hand or arm. People on the other end of the conversation say that it's clear and free of static or noises most of the time. I was using a Motorola hands-free type Bluetooth in my car, but the quality was lousy. If you get out of range with the 510, it will automatically re-connect to the cell phone if you don't wait too long. My dad ended up buying all of us the Plantronics Voyager 510 and we are satisfied. I recommend the 510 to anyone who needs a good unit for a fair price.
